Healthy Horse Expo - March 28, 2009

small logo

Join us next March for even more learning and fun!

It is amazing what can arise out of small talk outside a barn.  When Alexa Linton, Equine Sport Therapist and Laurie Joslin, her client and Natural Hoof Trimmer, first discussed the idea of organizing an event dedicated to complementary therapy for horses, they were thinking small. Well, so much for that!  In it's first inception the Healthy Horse Expo 2006 showcased presentations by some of the best in the industry! The response from service and product providers was astounding.  The first ever event in Western Canada completely dedicated to Equine and Animal Wellness, it was a great honour to have been the vehicle by which vendors and practitioners brought their health promoting products and services to treat both horse and rider.

This year, we are happy to be once again creating a venue for horse and animal people alike to gain knowledge, meet health practioners, and discover products designed to enhance the health of their animals. Join us from 10-4pm, Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Saanich Fairgrounds (1528 Stelly's X Rd) in beautiful Victoria, BC for a great day! Details about presentors and exhibitors to come!

The Healthy Horse Expo will be looking for Volunteers for next year's event. To take advantage of this opportunity please click here.

Our Healthy Horse Mission Statement
Our mission is to create inspired events, organized and run by our non-profit group of health conscious volunteers, who are deeply committed to equine health.
Our intention is to educate the community, nurture investigation and understanding, advocate for the sanctioned integration of equine care practices and explore the potential of credible standardization for the continuance of whole horse health, in mind, body and spirit.

The founding members of the Healthy Horse Expo are striving towards:

  1. Creating an environment which nurtures investigation into all forms of equine care.
  2. Creating educational environments for the public, encompassing all the integrated services available for their horses health.
  3. Educating practitioners as they work toward creating a cooperative community.
  4. Becoming an advocate, speaking for the well being and respect of the horse, to motivate horse enthusiasts to make the safest and healthiest choices for their horses.
  5. Actively working toward the creation of credibility standards for non-veterinarian equine practitioners.
  6. The redirection of all funds surplus of operating costs toward the pursuit of whole horse health education and practises.
